Little League Baseball World Series(2007) Is Nominated for a SportsTravel Award

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - 

Sports Travel AwardSportsTravel magazine has announced that the 2007 Little League Baseball World Series has once again been nominated for a 2008 SportsTravel Award.

Events are nominated and then voted upon by readers of SportsTravel, a sports event magazine. The 2006 Little League Baseball World Series was the 2007 winner in the “Best Sports Event – Series or Circuit” category.

Criteria for nomination and voting include superior organization of, and attendance at the event, a superior experience for the competitors and spectators at the event, and how the site or venue served to enhance the event.

Other nominees in the Best Sports Event – Series or Circuit category are:
The 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup; 2008 City Chase; 2008 Kick-It 3 vs. 3 Soccer Tour; 2008 Muddy Buddy Mountain Biking and Running Series; and 2008 USA Softball KFC Bound 4 Beijing Tour.

Final balloting is open through Sept. 15. Winners will be announced at the Teams 2008 Conference and Expo, Oct. 21-25, in Pittsburgh.

Official ballots are available in the August and September issues of SportsTravel magazine. Readers may also find more information and vote online at: www.SportsTravelMagazine.com.

The ballot includes nominees in amateur, collegiate and professional categories. Awards in those three categories will be given for best single-sport event, best multi-sport or multi-discipline event, and best sports event series or circuit. Voters also may select best new sports event and an overall Sports Event of the Year from among the nominated events.
