District 4 Big League has created a Safety Manual that covers basic first aid procedures for injuries and incidents that occur on the field. The manual also includes an explanation on Little League insurance, how to report injuries/incidents, when to halt play for weather, the responsibilities of coaches, players and umpires.
Accompanying this Safety Manual is the Safety Manual Appendix which has various forms to use during the season.
An additional Safety Manual of Baseball and Softball injuries was published by Little League in 1999. This manual is meant to be a guide and not to teach coaches to be expert medical personnel.
